Hmm, Posted with no recognition of where in the world this street is?
Baldwin St is in Dunedin as you may have seen on the sign, is the second largest city in the South Island of New Zealand.
At the top of this hill is a Drinking fountain so you can get a much needed drink after making your ascent to the top.
As for Giorgis’s Comment, “The road surface is ribbed so you walk down it”
that is not a street, that is a big staircase.

This is clearly photoshopped.

1. there’s obviously excessive cloning, as you can see by the identical repeating textures in #3, #4, and #7
2. Blatant lighting inconsistencies.
3. Shadows present without anything to cast a shadow in pic 6 and 9

photoshopping doesn’t mean the whole image is fake, in this circumstance it just means certain parts of the picture have been modified to give it the appearance of being steeper than it actually is.

if you check the world record this isn’t the steepest street so there’s your proof right here.

Well, I have been there. And it is exactly as steep as the picture show. NO photoshopping there! Driving down this street is a scary experience. I can’t say if this is truly the steepest street in the world, but the sign is sure there at the bottom, and I believe that better that you guys

Ha! You idiots crack me up with your “its so definitely photoshopped” crap. I live 5 minutes walk from this street, tourists come there all the time, and it’s not bloody fake. It was named the worlds steepest street in the guiness book of world records until a few years ago, when a street in California apparently took the title. But it’s still more famous, so there!

You don’t need wet plastic for this. Just get as many old bed spreads and blankets as you can carry and place them end-to-end down the hill and lie down in your bathing suit. As long as you’re not sweating your bare skin will be smooth enough to let you gradually creep down the hill. It’s hard to say this is the steepest in the world. I travel to Bagio(mountainous area) here in the Philippines often and can say there’s lots of streets as steep as this. So I’m sure there has to be plenty of places as steep or steeper.

Dunedin New Zealand, proud student of Otago Uni, and a coupla mates who flat halfway up this crazy street. But yeah, while the plaque at the bottom does say it’s the world’s steepest street, it isn’t. Apparantly they screwed up the measurement by several degrees. It’s still the steepest in the southern hemisphere though. And believe me, it is pretty damn steep.

in one of the last pictures You see that guy who is standig beside his red car ??? … in the totals of the street there is no red car … so that is proof it must be photoshoped !!
