biggest waste of time and money ive ever seen
October 28th, 2008 at 11:36 am
@Jack
you are absolutely right, but ppl can do anything to make record…..
October 28th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
But…why?
October 28th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
may be to make an entry in Genius Book of World Records….
October 28th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
To make an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records? For what? Biggest waste of time and money ever?
October 28th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
it kinda sucks to know that instead of giving to charity or helping out a cause people made an unusable upside down house….
October 28th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
even tho that looks neato what is the purpose besides a record
October 28th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Pshew you guys are idiots. I’m from the construction industry and this is how houses are made. You simply roll the house right-side up when you are finished. Nothying out of the ordinary here.
October 28th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
And then when it falls on them, they can also win the Darwin award….
October 28th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Cool, but the money and time would have been better spent on Habitat for Humanity.
October 28th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
its guiness book of world records GENIUS! but yes this is a gigantic waste of time
October 28th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
And just what record would that be? “Most upside-down house?”
It’s a piece of ART, morons.
It’s not a waste of time or money because it’s what these people are passionate about.
Pull your heads out of your freaking asses.
October 28th, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Its photoshopped. Anyone who says otherwise is a noob.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
Why couldn’t they have just built a real house for a needy family, and feel better about themselves?
October 28th, 2008 at 11:29 pm
It’s a good thing people aren’t blowing their money in a time of financial crisis.
October 29th, 2008 at 12:56 am
I M A WALLRUS ND I AM INERESTD IN PURC BYENg THIS LUVLY ABOD DEWL HUS PLECE <:3
October 29th, 2008 at 2:39 am
Bahaha, you guys are idiots.
I’m with K on this.
I’m sure this house is going to interest a lot more people than just the ones who built it.
It takes money to make money.
October 29th, 2008 at 6:32 am
you bunch of idiots, so everything you buy that is luxury (mobile phone, juwelery) , why did you buy it instead of giving money to charity?
dump idiots
October 30th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
I hope they builders get aids
November 2nd, 2008 at 10:11 am
big waste of time…how do you take a shit in the shitteR?
November 2nd, 2008 at 11:21 am
You guys are all quite stupid if you ask me. Maybe the guy in construction was right, maybe the guy that said it was art was. Who knows other than the people that built it? You guys remind of school children, it’s pretty sad.
November 2nd, 2008 at 11:38 am
This might be a waste of time for all of you to see but then again there is i even worse records in that book and really they just want to be recognized they never in the process of this did they ever consider anyone else who needed money or nature
November 2nd, 2008 at 2:31 pm
These people made their money, they can spend it any way they want.
It may say something about their morals and ethics, but people shouldn’t be *EXPECTED* to give their excess money over to charities if THEY SPENT THEIR TIME MAKING IT.
November 2nd, 2008 at 2:42 pm
To all those who are saying it would be better spent on charity, This is art to them, art takes time and money.
Also think about that phrase, “it would have been better to spend it on charity”, the next time you buy a DVD or CD, think about it when you pay the cable bill or the internet bill. Think about it the next time you buy something you really don’t need.
All I am saying is that we are all guilty of not giving enough to charity. This is a hobby and art to these people.
November 2nd, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Are you people to judge what these people do with their money?
“They shoulda spent it on charity”
and is that exactly what you guys are doing with all your money instead of going to the movies or buying a new iPod.
Get real. These people are doing something thats interesting. Its not your right to decide if it was worth it.
November 2nd, 2008 at 4:23 pm
I reckon it is usable, actually. The picture of the kitchen shows the appliances have ‘fallen off’, but they look like they’ve been plumbed in. There are probably things on the floor that can be used that we can’t see because all of the photos are of the ceiling.
And even if it isn’t, it is fun…
November 2nd, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Fuck trying to explain art to you people. K I thank you for understanding that this is art. Everyone else try to be a little open minded.
November 2nd, 2008 at 9:50 pm
I guess that would be a good excuse to leave the toilet seat up without getting bitched at by the wife
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:22 pm
That’s totally photoshopped, look at the shadows, they’re all pixelated. Definitely photoshopped, I would know; I’ve seen quite a few photoshopped images in my time.
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:42 pm
It would really suck if a tornado came along and turned it right-side up!
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:02 pm
Lakeland Mike — finally a comment worth reading!
November 3rd, 2008 at 5:54 pm
it would have been cool if everything inside wasnt up sidedown lol
November 4th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
This is all real
this house was build a year ago,(as old as the thread is lol)
in Germany Trassenheide on the isle Usedom,
its a art project with the name (loosely translated)
“the world up side down”
no on will live in it ever (obviously)
the building costs were about 4 tons (thats euro’s)
(i just happened to stumble here)
November 4th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
why can’t i find a page with comments that doesn’t include people calling each other idiots.. this is the reason why the world is fucked up not the upside down house
November 4th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
def. a waste of time!
November 4th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
@ Everyone saying it’s a big waste of time and money
Ever think that they’re doing it to get more tourists? Which means more money? Fucking stupid people
November 4th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
hey guys…..u arguers make me lol and u make m rofl..i think we all remember a certain picture with a retard runner. if you read the subtitles when you saw it, u would know what i mean
November 4th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
I have to say, the house is beautiful, and truly a very interesting piece of art.
I can also appreciate the sentiment that the money used to make it could have been used for some other good cause.
However, what I don’t understand is why the vast majority of comments on this page are so vulgar and obnoxious. I wonder how much time and money was used to pay for the bandwidth and continued hosting of this trash conversation. I would only suggest to the person who made this page to remove this worthless forum before even more garbage is posted here.
November 4th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
this thing is really cool. art is supposed to be interpreted by the audience and by the audience alone, so even mentioning the purpose of the builders is frivolous. this is a fabled tale pretty much, just brought to life by some very intuitive people. but yeah, let people say what they want about it, cuz it’s art, and if it can bring up this much controversy on who thinks what, then it is a success.
November 4th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
FRED is right you are all stupid. or at least uncreative. its art. i’m sure you’ve all heard of art. haven’t you ever wondered what an upside down house would look like? apparently not. you’re all too worried about helping people… and money
November 4th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
i mean K. not FRED. sorry never posted here before. everyone’s comments baffled me though. i agree with Meghan too.
November 4th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
they are doing it wrong
November 4th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
I agree its a waste of money, a pretty damn kool waste of money, but still a waste of money. But im not gonna bitch about the money should go to charity, has anyone of the people here who complained the money should have went to charity actually donated anything over the last year other than canned crap or old clothes? Have u gave more than 50 fucking pence to a guy on the street? no i doubt it ^^) Quit yer bitching!
Cant imagine how much work would go into this, or how long it took!
Photoshopped
haha Major smilage XD
November 5th, 2008 at 8:06 am
Guinness book of records? For What? Most ignorant?
How about a couple of guys just having fun in their own way?
November 5th, 2008 at 9:55 am
Waste of money? This house was used to give tours.
Paid tours.
November 5th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Wow. I guess this must be the most generous lot on the internet. I mean if they’re all going to complain about how another spends their time and money they must be doing rather well for their local communities and what not.
It’s art. Sometimes art costs. I see plenty of reasons to attack it on artistic merit but it’s kind of stupid to whine about how the guy didn’t spend his money and time on the poor if you yourself are not doing any better.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Yeah it is a big waste of money, but it is also a tourist trap/publicity stunt type of thing. “Come see the upside down house for only ” I bet they will make more money than they spent, and maybe just maybe they will donate that money to a better cause than a useless house.
Think about it
November 5th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
creative no waste of time and money yes art fuck no
November 5th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
i lolled at a lot of your comments. blah blah waste money blah blah. how the fuck often do you waste money? its their money. they can do with it as they please, just like you. if you want that candy bar, your wasting money. that could have gone to somebody else that wanted that candy bar. amiright? if thats the thought process…your kinda strange. thats like a hospital. saying, well since your in this room using this bed, were going to charge you for using this room, when somebody else could be in here using it instead of you.
same thing. i bet they did it because they could, and they felt like making something that make you think. not think, as in why did they waste all that money? but more like, so THATS what it would be like to walk on the ceiling. cool
if you think this is a waste of money, take away disney land. take away all your entertainment. then see where you stand. okay im done now.
November 5th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
hey brenda…the darwin award?! who’s the dumbass now? darwin has abso-fuckin-lutely nothing to do with gravity…that was sir isaac newton…do some research before u open your mouth (or type)…you sound to me to be dumber than the jackasses that made this house. i’m sorry for being “rough”, but at the same time, ignorance is more unattractive than wasting time and money.
November 5th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
This would be crazy to do drugs in!
November 6th, 2008 at 4:21 am
Hey Xearo, look up the darwin awards, and stop making an ass out of yourself.
November 6th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Well a lot of art is just a big waste of space anyways. This is the equivalent of a really big and expensive bathroom portrait that you can buy from WallMart or Winners. It doesn’t inspire the masses…. It doesn’t make a meaningful statement…or an impression either… Its just one of those things you look at and go…. “Hmmm” and then forget about it a week later.
Just another So-So idea… that wasn’t worth the time or money.
… I wish I would stop stumbling over this piece of shit.
thumbs down.
November 6th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
I think you meant the commenter “ignorance is unacceptable today”. The posters name is below the comment.
November 7th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
I think I need to get food stamps again…
November 7th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
I think it has been done before. It has little to no artistic value. I don’t care if people waste their money making such things it’s their money but to my (jaded) eyes it’s not new or very interesting.Upside down house! whoooo ! lets get excited about roller skates or that new invention the refrigerator.I guess it could generate some revenue as a local attraction selling burgers or such like . Perhaps that revenue could cover the cost of building it in the first place. Either way it’s not interesting, it has been done before many times and really who cares in the end ? .
November 7th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
its his art. maybe all the guy ever wanted was to build an upside down house and think of ways to pee into the toilet. just let it be. it aint your money.
November 7th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
You are all wrong, its was actually built for a family of upsidedown people called the Melvins, they have a rare genetic condition which makes them defy gravity, its called onhisheaditis and the Melvins are the only known case.
True story.
November 7th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
yeah daves correct i saw it on the national geographic, and also dave rocks.
November 7th, 2008 at 10:03 pm
big waste
November 8th, 2008 at 3:48 am
Millions of homeless people in the world and here they are wasting perfectly good materials.
November 8th, 2008 at 5:39 am
just wasting time…
and mony and many things
i dont think that this house is usefull and it will never be used!!!
November 8th, 2008 at 9:03 am
rofl…dandoona, of course this house will never be used =D
November 8th, 2008 at 9:43 am
wow pple talk about wasting time and money for this and not for the needy… well looks like your doing a whole lot for the needy sitting at your computer. idiots
November 8th, 2008 at 10:03 am
are you guys serious?
pretty sure this house wasnt built to be lived in. i would have thought that was obvious .. unless of course you all thought this was a house for that entire family that are full of helium and tend to float all the time
its probably some sort of exhibition by an architect or something .. and who is to say that this is a waste of time. im sure you have all wasted plenty of time and money in your life, this is just a little more extravagant. why dont you all go and donate to some charity and save the world?
November 8th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
I don’t think it is necessarily a waste. Lots of little towns have weird tourist attractions like that. I’m sure they could justify the expense by charging $5 a pop to walk through. They could sell those Amelia Bedelia books in the gift shop. [She had an upside down house].
November 8th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Looks expensive
November 11th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
To all those that think it is photoshopped…
The shadows are fine, it isn’t photoshopped. Your computers are crappy.
JK!!! JK! to that to. LOL.
Im done now….
November 11th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
OK its not photoshoped are you people stupid and when is the last time you gave stuff to charity
November 11th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
I think its cool…like an amusement park for the mind.. and the toilet seat lid is always up (or is that down?) for you gentlemen…
November 12th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
1) Very cool art
2) You’re all idiots
3) I would think of more, but I’m off to class and after that to research ways to explain math to help underprivileged kids pass 2nd grade AND be ready for third.
November 12th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
what the hell is the point of this?
November 12th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Man, you guys are way off.
They’re just way ahead of their time.
Just waiting for gravity modifiers to hit the open market.
Then who’s laughing?
-Snatch
November 12th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
THIS IS THE GREATEST SH**IT ON THE INTERNET!!! I THINK WE SHOULD TAKE 25% OF ALL DARFUR DONATIONS AND BUILD MORE OF THESE KINDS OF SCULPTURES!
November 13th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
they should fill the toilet with a sculpt-able epoxy or sculpted plastic to mimic water.. quit complaining and enjoy it
November 14th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
This looks like my house (after quite a few beers)
November 14th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
Ummmmmmmm Rashid… It’s definitely The Guinness* Book of world records. Not GENIUS that is a term describing a level of intelligence. LEARN TO AT LEAST SPELL BEFORE YOU GO AROUND ON THE INTERNET POSTING YOUR OPINION ON THINGS.
November 14th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Well, I guess this proves that the housing market is upside down.
November 14th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
Buying meth is a waste of money.
Building something…anything…is not a waste of money.
so, there…
November 14th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
how sad, i could use a right side up house for me and my kids…
November 14th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
its not upside down, because the brackets on the shelving are upright to keep the shelves up
November 15th, 2008 at 6:05 am
When I saw this picture since first time I was thinking that this house is a real house and for fun and fantasy it was designed like this. But this time,I saw the pictures inside I feel sorry about the designer or builder. I think 90% of who see the inside pictures will feel the same. ” I mean it is a criminal waste”. Please keep the outside design and rectify to a good house Tanking you
November 15th, 2008 at 8:46 am
Those whacky Germans.
November 15th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Worry about what your government is spending your money on then what this man spends his on.
November 15th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
Its ugly. Enough said.
November 15th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Looksaw, before you start commenting on peoples level of intelligence mabey you can stop writing in caps as that makes you look like a 12 year old american you tube commentor.
November 15th, 2008 at 10:24 pm
That is such a waste of resources…U morons in ur pretty lil developed nation would rather have an upside down pot to make urselves go dizzy.Try wearing ur pants on ur heads or somethin
November 16th, 2008 at 12:57 am
… As if it didn’t already suck enough to get a couch into your house…
November 16th, 2008 at 3:52 am
Why spend money on ungrateful humans that will start shooting and stealing as soon as they have a chance? Let them rot. Save some space on earth for the rest of us. This is a great and fun thing to build. If you have the money, build what the hell you want! The world needs inspiration and humour, not more idiotic humans.
November 16th, 2008 at 4:29 am
duuuuudes. everything we like costs a lot of money. sure, we could ask record companies to use all the money they have producing the music we love to put it towards feeding the homeless. or we could ask the producers of any one of your television shows to donate all of that money to cancer research. art costs, and pays us back with beauty, wonder, appreciation, or at least an opinion. which apparently you all have plenty of. see!? you haven’t even seen the house in person and already it’s affected you. if you don’t enjoy it you obviously find it mildly interesting. and, hey–if you’re still pissed, put all that money you set aside for your vacation into the salvation army bucket.
November 16th, 2008 at 4:34 am
I love it! I think its hysterical and a good idea! I wouldn’t want to live there obviously but its creative art! Who cares if they waist time and money, its there time and money to waist!
November 16th, 2008 at 8:14 am
ITS AN ART .. RESPECT !
November 16th, 2008 at 10:32 am
What a freaking waste.
November 16th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
rashid: your beard is staring at me
November 16th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
You really dont get it do you, they just had the plans upside down….
November 17th, 2008 at 9:35 am
Whether it’s “art” or not, art that takes that much time and money is still a waste. If they’re “passionate” about it, they could have felt just as accomplished building a home that could actually be used. They are very creative, but their creativity could have been used for a much better cause than an upside down home that can’t be lived in.. unless they plan on creating a way people can live upside down?
November 17th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Its a waste, its art it does’nt matter, its done and theres nothing that you can d about it, so lets move on and complain about somthing else, like me spelling and grammar.
November 17th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
i completely understand all thepeople who are saying why didnt they spend the same amount of time and money on charity, etc… but its not YOU money, is it? and so its no YOUR right to decide how it should be spent. if it was a gav’t thing taking taxpayers’ money and doing thing like this, yeah, thatd be retarded. but lots of pople spend exorbitant amounts of money on cruises or sports or other forms of enjoyment. this is theirs. we should probably just be damned happy that theyre not using that same money and effort bombing people or doing drugs.
oh and it IS art and art IS important
November 17th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
Sure, the money used to make this could have been used to help other people, but couldn’t the money used to make anything be used to help other people?
And I bet the people who made this didn’t make it to cause so much debate or to waste money or time…..they probably made it..just to make it.
I mean, if you could build something as cool, different, and original as this, wouldn’t you?
I know I would.
And here’s a little vocabulary lesson for all of you,
an idiot is a person who is incapable of ordinary reasoning.
So, if you think you’re completely right in that this is not and can not be art, and you think that the people who do are idiots, I’m sure many people would appreciate it if you take that little definition into consideration.
November 17th, 2008 at 8:17 pm
No . . . . You all have it wrong. It’s not the house that is upside down, it’s the world! (at least to someone who is standing upside down in the house) Everything is relative and down doesn’t always mean where gravity is pointing. How on earth do you know which way is up or down? For all we know it is perfectly right and all the other houses are wrong. Ah, I love physics and theology, and whatever branch of whatever I just said is under.
November 18th, 2008 at 12:23 am
Hehe, thats fun! Like to see that house
Build a real one is work but this one is really work LoL
November 18th, 2008 at 7:19 am
No one can live in that fuckin’ house. It is art, sort of. The owners are fucked upside down.
November 18th, 2008 at 7:51 am
I think this is a real “cool” idea and all and could technically be considered art but it was done many times before which means its nothing special. As for the person who mentioned luxuries, you clearly don’t understand reasoning as you compared functioning objects to form objects. There is a huge difference. Technically a stove if a luxury(you could just make a campfire and cook on that) but its function makes your life easier. This house makes no ones life easier and required construction and many expenses to go along with it. Even if it is the guy’s money and he can do what he wants with it, it still is a gross waste of money that could have been put to much better use. For instance you know how parents say eat your vegetables because there are people starving in *blah blah* for food just like this? That is because they acknowledge that some children are starving and even if you may eat, other people are starving and you should consider them and not be wasteful. This house is wasteful.
November 18th, 2008 at 9:51 am
> big waste of time…how do you take a shit in the shitteR?
Very carefully !!!
November 18th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
There is no difference between the days/months it took these people to make this than the days/months that society(including me) takes to look and comment at other peoples wasted time on the internet. If you are not willing to step out and do something constructive today. do not speak of how wasted this time was. Thank you for letting me waste some time. Nice job with the house.
November 18th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
Finally. Someone did something about those rats.
November 18th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
I agree
November 19th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Some people don’t have houses….much rather inverted ones. This is a wonderful aesthetic piece, but it kind of just makes me sad.
November 19th, 2008 at 2:52 am
wow. The whole lot of are just bitches. Bitchin about wasting money, bitchin that it’s Photoshoped, bitchin thats its a waste of time. Look; some person had some money and decided to build this sweet house. And that’s it. I personally would have spent that money raping all your mothers =)
November 19th, 2008 at 4:36 am
well it may seem like a big waste of money and time but i think its cool and i dunno mayb they can remake that money buy putting an admission to see the upside-down house
November 19th, 2008 at 5:43 am
It’s only strange because it’s in Germany. If it was in Ireland we’d just assume the builder had the architect’s drawing upside down
November 19th, 2008 at 6:22 am
If I want to see a upside down house I’ll wait for a tornado… I wont say this is a waste of money because if the people building it got joy from doing so they got thier moneys worth and if the people that went to see it and paid to do so got some enjoyment out of it, they got thier moneys worth.. but for me this just isn’t art
November 19th, 2008 at 7:03 am
Hitler would be super-psyched! He’d be so proud of his super race!
November 19th, 2008 at 11:55 am
Are. . .Are you all fucking nutters?
This is art? ART YOU ANIMALS! I’m not denouncing charity, or saying we as people should donate as much time and money as possible to those less fortunate, but to what cost?
You sit in your chairs bashing this work of art. The time and effort these people spent was an act of self expression, not some mindless waste of money, not some grab at a record, but toil at a work of art. Do we abandon art, do we abandon self expression, for charitable acts instead?
What I’m getting at here, as a cartoonist living on the ramen noodle diet is, go fuck yourselves you barmy twats. Go fuck yourselves well and proper. The only person I agree with here is the mother raper. Good for you! He’s willing to rape mothers to express himself. MOTHERS FOR CHRISTS SAKE! Thats initiative.
November 19th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
wow u all are a waste of time …who gives a shit , it isnt your time OR your money , so get over it appreciate the people that built it and get over , wow u are all asses
November 19th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
i agree with mark … this is art so if u dont like it go take ur money that u make and go put it too charity , go put it to habitat for humanity , i dont care but seriously appreciate the time and effort these people put into this , this is actually quite nice . Get the big picture and stop living like crude asses
November 19th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Wow! I cant believe how closed minded people are.
Has nobody ever heard of the tourism industry. This house probably made more money than it took to build it.
How about every person on this site who thinks the money used to build this house should have been spent on charities goes out and donates some money to those charities rather than sitting on the computer bitching how about people in Germany feel it necessary to build an installation art project which happens to be an upside down house rather than donating to habitat for humanity, which by the way is an AMERICAN charity…this artist, in GERMANY, has never heard of it I’m sure.

i hate the way tat whenever something neat like this comes up we get a massive debate forming. Waste of money , its cool bklah blagh bjarrgh! no one gives a crap and if you dont like it so much then why are you spending all your time debating it if we find it neat no stupid debate will change that so all you idiots go fuck yourself!
November 19th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
its art.
and its quite amazing.
i bet none of you give money to charity.
you’re too busy on stumble.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:07 am
this is obviously photoshopped i mean who wears overalls these days?! ewwww…
and you can easily tell that that is not an upside-down house, it is a rightside-up alien spaceship from the moon!
and why are you all on the computer! your all fattys with no life!! fattys! go to fatttland fattys! ewww…
the electrolicity your using now could be used to make a food+water making machine for all the starving people! IDIOTS!
p.s. your all fattys!
p.p.s get off your butt, go to the fridge and live in it! obese-face!
November 25th, 2008 at 10:11 am
I think it is great and gives people something to think about. All should stop bitching and just enjoy something different. So what if they wasted money, its there Money. And how much do you give to charity?
November 25th, 2008 at 10:13 am
Yahoo! I like it!
December 10th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
This was clearly built for upside down people. This is not art because art is made out of paint. And, it wasn’t a waste of money, except if there was another upside down house for sale, which would cost a bit less then building one from the sky down. You guys are just too ignorant to think that maybe upside down people like living in houses too. I have good friend who is an upside down person and he is always uncomfortable at my house. I always felt bad for him, but now at least he has some hope to live comfortably in the future. He is always saying, “Gravity is so mean to me.”
Everyone who posted is wrong and right.
December 11th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
They should put a drunk in there. Awesome.
December 15th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
@Lakeland Mike
yeah but speakin of toilets…
i think the question wud be somewhat different in this case.
December 21st, 2008 at 6:46 pm
At least they’re out wasting time building upside-down houses instead of sitting on the internet criticizing people.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:02 pm
@Some person
Yeah I’m pretty sure the “guy in construction” wasn’t right. *sigh
January 5th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
This reminds me of the Roald Dahl’s ‘The Twits’
hahah
January 7th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
i agree i think all the builders are twits but i do guess ur right about the art.
i would think of it as more of a retarded guess of wasteing a load of money…… im with u guys
January 11th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
@jack
RETARD
January 18th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
okay, try not giving a fuck. The house is upside down.
February 8th, 2009 at 11:54 am
Anything that someone disagrees on and is a stupid pointless waste of time, is always considered art. Art is always the last possible solution. This IS a waste of time, and money. And if you say anything other than that, I think you have to have something wrong with your damn head.
February 9th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
Ok, perhaps you guys are taking this way too seriously. Firstly, it hasn’t been photoshopped. (it’s sad that anything slightly interesting or different looking immediately falls on suspicious minds as being ‘Photoshopped’) Believe it or not, creative thinking in some people does still exist. Secondly, I’ve visited this place whilst on holiday on the Island of Usedom. It’s actually a great little tourist attraction. Simple yet effective, and well put together. Some of you may slam it as a ‘waste of time’ but I’ve seen the steady flow of people visiting the site. You pay a small entry fee for what’s actually an amusing experience. Especially for kids. Trust me, the designer isn’t doing too badly out of it! And everybody who was there seemed to enjoy the experience. Lighten up and don’t ‘overthink’ things so much. There are similar upside down constructions in other countries too – so someone must be benefiting from them. By the way, I think football’s a waste of time and money, but a lot of people do well out of it???
February 9th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
…ALSO, just wanted to add this. If you’re that worried about it being a waste of time/money do your research. You may find that the designer possibly does actually get involved in donating his time/money to causes. Also, to those of you who feel sad that there are so many homeless/poor people in the world, I’m sure the designer/builders are not any more responsible for that that you or I. When I stumbled upon the place where this was built I didn’t see any evidence of anyone’s house being destroyed to make space for it – it’s almost in the middle of nowhere! Anyway, there are plenty of ‘right way up’ houses that people live in that are death-traps/poorly designed/look hideous and quite frankly probably cost more money to live in than this one did to build.
February 14th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
it’s an installation.
IT’S ART.
February 28th, 2009 at 3:33 pm
“dump” idiots? I think that’s all I need to say about you… moron.
April 12th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
I love it, starving people all over the world and this is what gets done. YAY HUMANITY!
April 27th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
I agree with K and Forum Observer.
This is a piece of art, and why wouldn’t they have done it had it not felt worth the effort, time, and money to them? Why would you condemn them for doing something that they felt was important enough to them that it was worth doing?
And why the hell not?
Why did any of you need /anything/ you have (television, jewelery, whatever), when the money could’ve gone to AIDS research in Africa?
My best friend died of AIDs and I STILL buy useless crap I don’t need.
No one’s perfect.
April 28th, 2009 at 7:50 am
So I stumbled onto this page, and I ended up reading all of the previous comments too. Dark humoured as i happen to be, I was sincerely entertained. Forget the oddity house, human interaction! That’s where it’s at.
as for the house:
It serves its purpose as an attention grabber.
May 10th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
@CWork
you are retarded.
May 13th, 2009 at 5:58 am
Wife can’t complain about you leaving the toilet seat up
May 27th, 2009 at 3:08 pm

June 25th, 2009 at 10:10 am
@ignorance is unacceptable today
Sorry for being “rough” myself, but I must inform you that you are in fact the dumbass in this particular situation, and infinitely more so due to your superior attitude. Try looking up the Darwin AWARDS and find out that her point was entirely valid.
June 28th, 2009 at 6:27 pm
They should make a new post only showing the workers inside the house. Then flip those pictures upside down and title it:
\Amazing Construction Workers Build An Entire House Doing HandStands!\
July 1st, 2009 at 2:23 pm
its kinda awkward
July 3rd, 2009 at 10:01 pm
i know everyone is like
‘BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY’
it is- it is
but– aren’t WE the americans?
hmm…
just saying.
July 6th, 2009 at 10:28 am
@el camino
Wow you really hit it right on the button. All luxury cars and ridiculously expensive jewelry are a phenomenal waste of money which could be spent on a way to make the world a better place. Instead, they give a greedy asshole a way to show off his wealth.
July 6th, 2009 at 6:49 pm
@jack
But it’s not a waste of YOUR time or YOUR money, so why complain?
Friggin’ negative morons.
July 6th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Wow. Aren’t you a racist piece of trash?
Xearo- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! I REALLY hope you win a Darwin Award. Please, for the sake of the human race, try to win one.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Ok anything is ART!!
you am art though not sure your as awsome as that house, but prob some of the money that house is making should go to charity. it is awsome so when i am old enough to go to Germany by myself I am sooooo going to see that house and who cares if it isnt orriginal ‘please dont tell me that i cant spell because the red squiggly lines am telling me!!’ lol love this house!!! it is awsome!!! lol
but im loving reading this hilarious argument!!
August 19th, 2009 at 12:38 pm
WOW u guys r all RIDICULOUS!!! hahahaha
August 21st, 2009 at 5:47 am
it’s art, it’s pointless…fuck it, I’d like to visit this house.
August 24th, 2009 at 1:17 pm
Those whacky Germans with thier hunour. It looks great from the outside, really eccentric. But why make it upside down on the inside too? I don’t get it. Should I turn my car upside down to make some pointless point? If the inside was normal and someone lived there, then I’d get it.
September 6th, 2009 at 10:20 am
Why is there ALWAYS someone who says that an image is “photoshopped”? Hey, @$$holes, just because something is strange doesn’t mean that it is shopped. Otherwise every time someone looked at a picture of your mom, they would be convince it was shopped.
September 9th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
@emily
oh. yeah. sorry for having a little fun, I suppose all our money should be spent on charity. if we have the money, we should never use it to have fun or build something creative.
September 9th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
ok, sorry emily. I may have been a bit charged on this one. I thought you were being serious or something. or… yeah. ok, what ever.
September 17th, 2009 at 10:23 am
its art people… come on…get some culture
September 17th, 2009 at 6:38 pm
It’s called art, people. For those charity-idiots, how much have you helped those in need? You can forsake your costs for internet to help someone else.
October 2nd, 2009 at 7:24 pm

December 1st, 2009 at 12:37 pm
interesting hobby……………..this is a cool pick to stumble upon
December 24th, 2009 at 5:20 am
it’s a piece of art. so shuttup about “omg what a huge waste of time!”
people can do what they want.
oh, they could have done something better with the money? Well, until YOU stop spending money on crap YOU don’t need and give to charities you say they should be giving to, then just shuttup, okay
March 4th, 2010 at 10:17 pm
i’ll tell you all why… because they wanted to. its like any other type of art form.
obviously you can’t really live in an upside down house but you can’t really talk to a sculpture either.
March 6th, 2010 at 3:24 am
everyone who calls this “art” there is a fucking limit…and everyone say people who say this is shit stupid remind me of christians
March 6th, 2010 at 7:54 am
