Why Numbers like : 1 is One & 2 is two, have you ever thought why ……..
1 means “one”, and 2 means “two”? The roman numerals are easy to understand but what was the logic behind the Phoenician numbers?
It’s all about angles! It’s the number of angles. If one writes the numbers down (see below) on a piece of paper in their older forms, one quickly sees why. I have marked the angles with “o”s. Digit 1 has one angle, Digit 2 has two angles, Digit 3 has three angles and so on…and “O” has no angles

Interesting, isn’t it? An ancient Phoenician manuscript explains this.

I dont buy it either. The Phoenicians were much more “Marking” oriented. Please see:

for verification of this.

plus, I believe Phoenicians didn’t know ZERO as a number.
Curiously enough, these numeral “symbols” have been roaming around the web faster than the real ones.
shame shame shame

Nice hoax. But old. My father told me this in the late 80s, before the world wide web. I presume he was, in turn, told this as a boy.
But, of course, I know now it’s just all a form of “folk etymology”.
